We would like to inform you that an increased number of fraud attempts have been observed via SMS and iMessage messages in which fraudsters present themselves as the Traffic Police Department.

In the messages, citizens are informed about alleged traffic violations, debts or fines and refer to fake websites with a request to make a payment. If you receive a suspicious message, please take the following steps to protect your personal and financial informations:

• check who the sender is - official state institutions do not send messages about violations, debts and fines via SMS messages;

• if you expect a notification from state institutions, check the status on official state portals or through their contact centers;

• do not open links from unverified messages;

• do not enter payment card data: card number, PIN and CVC2 code from the back of the cardinancial information:
