The Tax Administration has warned citizens about a scam circulating via email, in which their data is being misused.

"If you receive an email with an attachment allegedly sent by the Tax Administration of the Republic of Serbia, regarding updating bank details for tax refunds, we ask that, for the security of your data, you do not open the attachment or follow the instructions, but delete the email immediately," the statement reads.

The Tax Administration states that there have been recent attempts at fraud via email (so-called phishing messages).

The statement also states that official communication from the Tax Administration is carried out exclusively from the official address in the @purs.gov.rs domain.
