The European Fund for South East Europe (EFSE) and AIK Banka have established a partnership to support the financing of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Serbia, with a particular focus on rural areas.
As part of this cooperation, the EFSE Fund has provided EUR 30 million through a credit line that meets the criteria of Qualified Eligible Obligations (KPO). This investment will enable AIK Bank to offer micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) with financial solutions tailored to their needs. In this way, MSMEs are given the opportunity to invest in development, create new jobs and contribute to economic development at the local level. Special attention will be paid to rural areas where companies often have difficulty accessing finance.
“This investment represents a significant step in our efforts to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Serbia,” said Jasminka Begert, Director at Finance in Motion in charge of the EFSE Fund. “Through the partnership with AIK Banka, EFSE reinforces its commitment to channel financing where it can have the greatest impact – improving the ability of the financial sector in the region to lead long-term sustainable development.”
